Apprentice Vehicle Technician Vacancy – Join Premier Motors in Newport!

Are you a talented, enthusiastic individual with a passion for motor vehicles and an eagerness to learn? A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join our busy Service Team at Premier Motors, the Isle of Wight’s trusted automotive expert.

Whether you're already working towards your Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair qualification or have recently completed it, we want to hear from you!

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

-Get hands-on experience in a fast-paced workshop environment.

-Learn from skilled professionals and attend block training at Ford’s Henry Ford Academy (Daventry) and MG Motor UK (Longbridge).

-Receive full support from an on-site mentor and regular coaching from the Calex training team.

-Gain experience in:

-Servicing and maintaining vehicles to Ford & MG Motor standards.

-Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues.

-Safe operation and repair of electric vehicles and air-conditioning systems.

-Observing and working alongside experienced technicians.

 

What We’re Looking For:

-A genuine interest in the automotive industry.

-A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic.

-Honesty, reliability, and professionalism.

-Team player mindset with the ability to follow instructions.

-A full, clean driving licence is essential.

-Ideally working towards or holding a Level 2 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance qualification.

 

Training & Development Plan:

-Structured 2–3 year apprenticeship delivered by Calex.

-Block training every 2–3 months (1-week durations).

-All travel, accommodation, and meals for training covered by Premier Motors.

-Combination of:

-On-the-job mentoring

-Classroom and workshop sessions

-Virtual classes and E-learning modules

-Regular coaching visits and progress reviews

 

Upon successful completion, you’ll:

-Receive a nationally recognised qualification.

-Be offered a full-time, permanent position.

-Continue to develop with ongoing training through the Ford and MG Technical Programmes.
